A Profound Experience
During phase one, Listen and Learn, Ministry staff provided feedback through a variety of channels about their vision for a healthy workplace. We received, analyzed and synthesized more than 15,000 responses from 650 employees. During phase two, Design our Future, we engaged more than 500 staff during several “Problem Identification Solution Making” sessions. These sessions generated 130 proposals for change that informed the development of an overarching Culture Change Strategy for the Ministry of Health.
Working with the results from phases 1 and 2, we helped the Ministry design its Culture Change Strategy. The strategy set five ambitious goals to reach the vision of Meaningful Work, Empowered People, Healthy Workplace. When achieved, these goals would see employees focused on purposeful, meaningful productive work in an environment of trust, support, warmth, inclusivity, collaboration and safety—with opportunities for growth and development.
The Culture Change Strategy highlighted the importance that leadership plays in driving and shaping culture, and underscored the importance of integrating business objectives, talent management and culture strategies to cultivate a strong, healthy organizational culture. With an enshrined strategy in place, the Ministry was able to move forward with structure, commitment and support from its staff.
