Public Sector Climate Leadership Symposium

The Climate Action Secretariat engaged our team to help them to design and deliver their annual stakeholder engagement event: 2019 Public Sector Climate Leadership Symposium – a 150-person, 2-day conference bringing staff from various provincial public sector organizations.

A Profound Experience

We partnered with the Climate Action Secretariat to design a highly interactive agenda based on a World Café format, to engage stakeholders in the public sector about innovative ideas for effective climate action and new public sector climate action commitments, get feedback on emerging policies that will put the public sector on the path to reach new greenhouse gas reduction targets, gain insights on how the public sector can support provincial priorities to build resilience and manage climate change risks, and provide participants with information on how public sector leadership will play a role in the CleanBC Strategy.  

Practical Solutions

Together, we successfully planned and delivered this conference, including agenda design, event management (managing the venue, food and beverage, AV, and speakers), emceeing, onsite facilitation, and note capture.

Bolder Futures

This Symposium allowed the Climate Action Secretariat to connect and engage with their key stakeholders in the public sector around to help them plan for Climate Risk Management (including new climate reality scenario planning and designing for future climates), and Climate Mitigation (including proposed policy changes for GHG emission reduction in public sector buildings and fleet/transportation services).
