Philosophy

Strong teams are equally as important to organization effectiveness as strong processes and direction. We strongly believe that the pace of change in today’s workplaces means that organizations must continually work at communicating and building teams across organizational ‘silos’ in order to meet the needs of both internal and external suppliers and clients. We work with our clients to ‘start where they are at’ in terms of team effectiveness, and build on their strengths to help them improve their team performance and to create a positive, enriching work environment.

Our Approach
There are three key success factors of a strong team
  1. Common Vision
  2. Efficacy – a recognition that the team’s results will be greater than working alone
  3. High levels of trust.
Our team development workshops are designed to quickly and effectively move teams through the four stages of team development:
  • Forming is the first stage in team development and is characterized by uncertainty about the group’s purpose, structure and leadership.
  • Storming is the stage of intra-team conflict. Members accept the existence of the group, but there is resistance to the constraints that the group imposes on individuality.
  • The Norming stage is complete when the team structure solidifies and the team has assimilated a common set of expectations of what defines correct member behaviour.
  • At the Performing stage the structure is fully functional, achieving its goals and has high levels of trust.
Note:For temporary groups there is an Adjourning stage, which is characterized by the wrapping up of activities and celebrating success

In all cases, team development activities are applied to situations that people are facing in their organizations – making the learnings real and applicable.

Some of our services in this area include:
